Experience an evening journey from Tromsø into the dark skies of Tamokdalen Valley. Learn about the Northern Lights, enjoy a warm meal by the fire, and, weather permitting, witness the aurora dancing across the Arctic sky.
Depart Tromsø city center for an evening journey into the wilderness of Tamokdalen, a remote valley known for its clear inland skies. After a 90-minute scenic drive, arrive at Camp Tamok, where your guide will provide thermal suits, boots, and gloves to ensure a comfortable evening outdoors.
The experience begins with an informative presentation about the Northern Lights and photography tips to help you capture this natural spectacle. Depending on weather conditions, your guide will lead short walks to the best viewing spots around the camp, away from artificial light. With luck, the northern sky will reveal the shimmering colors of the aurora borealis.
Warm up inside a traditional Sámi tent, known as a lávvu, where a hot meal and warm drinks are served around an open fire. After an unforgettable evening under the Arctic sky, return to Tromsø by bus.
