Depart Tromso by bus late afternoon and head into the Arctic wilderness at Camp Tamok. After gearing up, you'll ride snowmobiles along snowy trails in the dark, with a chance to glimpse the northern lights. A warm meal in a lavvu (Sámi tent) completes the evening before you return to Tromsø.
You’ll meet in Tromso (Havn Prostneset, Samuel Arnesensgate 5) around 16:45 for the evening departure. A ~90‑minute drive brings you to remote Tamokdalen, where the snowmobiling adventure begins. You receive full winter gear (thermal suit, boots, helmet, gloves, balaclava), and guides will walk you through safety instructions before you set off.
Riding together (you swap driver/passenger roles halfway through), you’ll traverse snow‑covered valleys, frozen lakes, and rugged mountain scenery under Arctic skies. Riding in evening light (or darkness) gives a chance to see the northern lights if conditions are right. Back at camp, enjoy a warm meal inside a lavvu with drinks, relax, and then board the bus for the return to Tromso.
